Luttie for DaVinci Resolve

Grade the real frame. Apply it back in one click.

Send the frame under your playhead from Resolve to Luttie, build the look in your browser, and put it on the clip as a LUT. No exporting stills by hand, no hunting for the LUT folder, no Update Lists.

Free Resolve and Studio · Windows, macOS, Linux

Step 1

Send Frame

Park the playhead on a clip and run Workspace › Scripts › Luttie - Send Frame. Your browser opens with that exact frame loaded in the Luttie editor.

Step 2

Grade it in Luttie

Use curves, colour wheels, HSL, film looks or AI Grade on the real frame, not a stand-in photo. Press Send to Resolve when the look is right.

Step 3

Apply LUT

Back in Resolve, run Luttie - Apply LUT. The look lands on the clip's last node as a .cube. Run it again on other clips to reuse it.

Your whole LUT library, inside Resolve

The download includes a third script, Luttie - Sync Library. Run it once and every Luttie LUT your account includes appears in Resolve's LUT browser, one folder per pack: the free library for everyone, plus any Pro packs you own. Run it again whenever you like; it only fetches what's new or changed, and never deletes anything.

Install

Takes about a minute. The download is set up for your account, so there are no keys to paste.

  1. 1. Download and unzip. Sign in and press the download button above. You get three .lua files and a README.
  2. 2. Copy the .lua files into Resolve's Scripts/Utility folder, creating the Utility folder if it isn't there:
    scripts folder
    Windows %APPDATA%\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Support\Fusion\Scripts\Utility
    macOS ~/Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/Fusion/Scripts/Utility
    Linux ~/.local/share/DaVinciResolve/Fusion/Scripts/Utility
  3. 3. Restart Resolve. The scripts appear under Workspace › Scripts on every page.

The scripts contain an API key tied to your account, so keep them to yourself. You can revoke it any time from Account › Developer. Prefer doing it by hand? The manual .cube workflow still works.

Frequently asked

Yes. The scripts are Lua, which Resolve runs natively from the Workspace › Scripts menu in both the free version and Studio. There's no Python install and no Studio-only plugin API involved.

It's three small script files. Copy them into Resolve's Scripts/Utility folder and restart Resolve; they then appear under Workspace › Scripts. There's no installer and nothing running in the background.

Sending a frame and grading it is free. Sending the finished LUT back to Resolve is a LUT export, so it needs Pro, the same as downloading a .cube from the editor. A week pass counts.

The clip's last node. The frame the script sends already includes your existing grade, so putting the LUT after it reproduces exactly what you saw in Luttie. If that node already has a LUT of your own, the script stops instead of replacing it; add a serial node with Alt+S and run it again.

One still of the current frame, downscaled to 2048px, plus the clip's name. It's kept for 24 hours so you can finish the grade, then deleted. Nothing else from your project leaves Resolve.

Yes. Run Luttie - Sync Library and every LUT your account includes lands in Resolve's LUT browser under a Luttie folder, one subfolder per pack. Free LUTs are included for every account; Pro packs are included if you bought them or have Lifetime. Re-run it to pick up new releases.

Yes, and on Linux. The scripts use curl for the upload, which ships with Windows 10 and later and with macOS.

Open Workspace › Console. Every step prints a line starting with [Luttie], including what went wrong and what to do about it.
