Faded Kodak — Free Film Emulation LUT

Kodak stock is known for warm mid-tones, a lifted shadow floor and skin that stays rich without oversaturating. This LUT emulates that.

What it looks like

Shadows lift to a warm brown-grey, so blacks never reach true zero. Mid-tones push golden-warm and highlights roll off to yellow-cream instead of clipping white. Saturation rises in the reds, oranges and yellows while blues and greens are held back. The reference is a well-exposed Kodak 500T or Portra frame.

• Portrait and lifestyle: warm skin without over-processing
• Music videos and narrative: depth in the mid-tones
• Natural light footage: daylight and golden hour

How to use it

Download the .cube file and import it into your NLE:

• DaVinci Resolve → Color page → LUTs panel → right-click to import
• Premiere Pro → Lumetri Color → Creative → Look → Browse
• Final Cut Pro → Effects → Custom LUT → assign the file
• CapCut Desktop → Adjust → LUT → import (the mobile app has no LUT import)

This one layers well. Apply it at 80% and add film grain on top for a fuller analogue look. In DaVinci, that is the Grain effect in the OpenFX panel.
