Skin is the only subject in a portrait, so every look here is built around holding it and letting nothing else pull it. Where a general-purpose LUT desaturates the whole frame and takes faces with it, these protect and push the skin range specifically — the rest of the image is free to go quiet.

Why Deep Tone exists

Most portrait LUTs are built and tested on light skin. Applied to darker skin they go ashen or grey, because they protect a narrow band of the hue wheel positioned where lighter skin sits — and deeper skin sits lower in value and across more of it. Deep Tone widens that protected range and warms it rather than treating darker skin as a problem to correct. If the other looks in this pack are leaving your subject flat, start here instead.

Which one should you use?

Start with Natural Skin and only move if the shot asks for it. Studio strobe wants Studio Clean. Sun wants Warm Portrait. If the grade is fighting the subject's skin rather than flattering it, try Deep Tone before you reach for the sliders.

How to use them

1. Download the pack — every look as a separate .cube file.

2. Load one in your editor, or apply it to stills right in the Luttie editor.

3. Dial the intensity back if it is doing more than the shot needs. Skin is the fastest thing to over-grade.
