Classic B&W — Free Black and White LUT

A greyscale conversion that keeps detail at both ends. No blown skies, no crushed faces.

What it looks like

The conversion follows standard luminance weights, so skin lands in the mid-tones, foliage renders darker than sky, blue eyes go light and red lips go dark. A slight mid-tone contrast lift gives the image presence without tipping into a heavy filter look.

What it's good for

• Portrait and documentary: faces keep their shape
• Street and architecture: geometry and texture read clearly
• Dramatic scenes: shadows stay readable
• B-roll cutaways: a consistent look across mixed sources

How to use it

Download the .cube file and import it into your NLE:

• DaVinci Resolve → Color page → LUTs panel → right-click to import
• Premiere Pro → Lumetri Color → Creative → Look → Browse
• Final Cut Pro → Effects → Custom LUT → assign the file
• CapCut Desktop → Adjust → LUT → import (the mobile app has no LUT import)

Apply it as the last node or layer, on top of any exposure and contrast work.
