LUTs for Fujifilm F-Log and F-Log2

F-Log and F-Log2 are Fujifilm's flat recording profiles. Fujifilm publishes its own conversion LUTs for each camera, so this page covers where to get them and how to put a look on top. There is no Luttie Fujifilm pack yet.

Convert F-Log before you grade it

F-Log footage is recorded flat and needs converting to Rec.709 before any look goes on. F-Log and F-Log2 are different curves, so their conversion LUTs are not interchangeable: Fujifilm lists its LUTs by camera model for that reason. Pick the one for your body and the profile you shot in.

The workflow

01

Check which profile you shot

Older bodies record F-Log. Newer ones such as the X-H2S, X-H2, X-T5 and X-S20 also offer F-Log2, and some add F-Log2 C. The conversion has to match.

02

Download Fujifilm's LUT for your camera

Fujifilm's support site has a LUT download page with .cube files listed by camera model. They include a plain conversion and an ETERNA look based on Fujifilm's cinema film.

03

Apply the conversion first

Put the conversion LUT at the bottom of the stack in your editor, before any other colour work.

04

Add a look on top

Once the footage is normal Rec.709, any creative .cube works. The Luttie free library downloads without an account.

05

Or build your own look

In the Luttie editor, drop Fujifilm's conversion LUT into the Creative panel as a custom LUT, which is free, then grade with the other panels. Exporting the result as a .cube needs Luttie Pro.

No Fujifilm pack yet

There is no paid Fujifilm pack. The free LUT library downloads without an account, and the editor runs in the browser with no install, so you can convert and grade Fujifilm footage without buying anything.

Questions

Fujifilm publishes official .cube LUTs on the LUT download page of its support site, listed by camera model for both the X Series and GFX. For creative looks to go on top, the Luttie free library downloads without an account.

Not yet. Fujifilm's own conversion LUTs cover the technical step, and the Luttie editor doesn't decode F-Log directly, so this page points you to Fujifilm for the conversion and to the free library and the editor for the look.

They are two different log curves. F-Log2 arrived with the X-H2S and is on newer bodies; it is built to hold more dynamic range. A conversion LUT made for one gives the wrong contrast on the other.

Not on its own. A creative LUT expects a normal-looking image, so on flat F-Log footage it comes out washed out. Convert to Rec.709 first, then add the look.

No conversion is needed. Footage shot with a Film Simulation such as ETERNA or Classic Chrome is already a finished, normal-looking image, so a creative LUT can go straight on, at reduced strength if the simulation already has a strong look.

Yes. That is a creative look, not a conversion. Luttie's film looks include one inspired by Fuji Eterna, and you can build and adjust it in the editor in your browser.
