Convert D-Log M before you grade it
Log footage is recorded flat on purpose: it holds highlight and shadow detail far outside what a display can show. A look LUT does not expand that range, so applied straight to log the image stays washed out and the highlights stay dead. Convert to Rec.709 first, then grade on top. Technical transform, then look, in that order.
The workflow
Shoot D-Log M, not the normal profile
D-Log M is the 10-bit flat profile on the Mini 4 Pro, Air 3 and Mavic 3. The standard profile bakes in contrast you cannot undo.
Watch the sky
Drone frames are mostly sky, which clips first. Expose for it and lift the ground afterwards.
Convert to Rec.709
Apply one conversion. These LUTs already include it.
Grade on top
Aerial footage often needs dehaze and a contrast lift after the conversion, not before.
