grade multiple photos at once with one look
open several photos in luttie, build one grade and switch between them to check it on each. three photos on a free account, twelve with pro.
you can now open several photos in luttie and grade them with one look. the photos sit as thumbnails under the canvas, and clicking one puts it on the canvas with the same grade applied.
it is for the job most photo sets need: one consistent look across a shoot.
how to do it
- open the editor and drop in your photos. you can select several files at once, or drag them in together.
- each photo appears as a thumbnail under the canvas. the last one you added is on the canvas.
- even the photos up first. in basic correction, the this photo only group has exposure, temperature and tint for the photo on the canvas. click through the thumbnails and bring each one to a similar brightness and a neutral white balance.
- build the look. start from a free lut or use the panels on the right. this part is shared by every photo.
- click another thumbnail. it shows with the same look, so you can see how it holds up on a different frame.
- adjust until it works across the set, then save each photo from the export section on the left.
to add more later, click the + tile at the end of the strip. to take one out, select or hover its thumbnail and click the small ร.
why one grade for the whole set
a set looks like a set when the photos agree with each other. a look that is perfect on the best frame often breaks on the darkest one, and you only find out by checking.
switching between photos while you grade is how you find the version that works on all of them. the usual result is a slightly gentler grade than you would have built on one photo alone.
that is also why the per-photo controls stop at exposure and white balance. those are what differ from frame to frame. the look is the part that should not. see basic correction.
what it does not do yet
- one look, not one per photo. every open photo shares the grade. only exposure, temperature and tint can differ.
- the per-photo correction is not in an exported lut. it is in the image you save. the lut carries the look.
- saving is one photo at a time. there is no "save all" button yet.
- clips sit in the strip too. a video joins it as the frame it is stopped on, with a player under the canvas to play it with your grade. each clip is still saved on its own.
how many photos
| photos open at once | |
|---|---|
| free account | 3 |
| pro | 12 |
twelve is a memory limit, not a pricing one. each photo is held at full size in your browser, and that adds up quickly on a laptop.
keep the look for next time
once the set looks right, click + save this look in the creative panel. it is stored on your account, so the same grade is one click away on your next shoot. a free account keeps three looks. see projects and looks.
