the camera panel knows photos from log
a log conversion is for log video. on a normal photo it makes the picture too contrasty and too saturated, and the camera panel used to offer one whatever was open.
what it does now
- photos: the panel explains that photos are already in normal colour. the camera luts are still there, behind i grabbed this frame from log footage.
- raw files: they're decoded to normal colour, so there's nothing to convert. the old "s-log3 detected" bar for raw photos is gone: a raw file is never log.
- clips: the panel asks whether the clip was recorded in log, since most phone video isn't.
- a warning: if a log conversion ends up on a photo, a bar under it offers to remove it. the film panel's source does the same.
- flat clips: a clip that looks grey and flat gets a hint that it may be log, with a button to pick your camera.
